ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

<span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif; color: #000000; background-color: #ffffff; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">The department is well equipped with media facilities like a LCD Projector and Screen, besides regular amenities of class rooms. A departmental library is set up to help students to use&nbsp; books during or after classes, practical classes and otherwise and lending facilities are also available.

The Department organizes student seminars, poster competitions. peer tutoring and prepares the students for representation at different forums. Wall magazine NUTRIESSENCE and Magazine NUTRIQUEST since 2016 are&nbsp; published to help the students develop their writing and thought provoking skills. National Nutrition Month and other commemorative occasions like World Breastfeeding week, National Diabetes Day, Coconut Day , Health Day,&nbsp; etc are celebrated by the Department. Industrial visit to Dairy farms, Biscuit and bakery units , Food Processing laboratories, Training to Food processing Unit , WB Govt,&nbsp; and ICDS centres as part of the curriculum are arranged by the Department.
